Now that ‘staying in’ has become the new norm, it’s likely that your daily life has been thrown a little out-of-whack. With gyms and restaurant closing and self isolation measures in full effect, the disruption to our health and fitness routines can feel pretty disheartening. But don’t let cabin fever get you down - there’s actually never been a better time to make your health a priority.

In fact, it’s easier to stay healthy while staying home.

In this article, we reveal how to use more time at home to your advantage. But more on that later.

Body Energy Club is still fully operational and we’re continuing to support your health and nutrition while keeping strict safety measures in place. Our stores have implemented floor markers as well as limiting the amount of customers allowed in store at one time.

But if you’re unable to leave the house, we’ve partnered with Uber Eats to deliver food to you as well as free, next day delivery on all supplement orders. To find out how to place an order with us, read on.

It’s important to us that you’ve got easy access to what you need to keep your health and immune system functioning optimally.

Our goal during this period is to help keep you active, well nourished and balanced. Here are our suggestions on how to stay healthy while staying home.

Move Your Body

So, you can’t go to the gym? Don’t worry, you can still be a fitness warrior. Try moving your body outside. It’s still safe to walk, bike or run outdoors, so long as you’re maintaining physical distancing rules. If you’ve got a jump rope, try skipping in your driveway. Or plan a secluded hike.

If it’s not possible or safe for you to leave the house and you don’t have access to a home gym set up, there are plenty of virtual resources for extra inspiration and motivation.

Local gyms and fitness clubs have all moved online, even offering free live workouts via social media platforms. Here’s what some of our friends have on offer.

Buy Local

We encourage shopping local where possible to support the many industries that have been significantly affected during this period.

Miss going out for dinner? Have dinner come to you. Despite major shifts in the hospitality industry, it’s still possible to access takeout and delivery from your favourite local cafes and restaurants. Take Home Vancouver is a comprehensive list, updated regularly of where you can get your hands on food from your favourite places.

Help Others

Many individuals and families across Canada aren’t able to get the food or supplies they currently need. Share The Goods is an organization committed to supporting people in need and collaborating with those in our community who are in a position to help.

Once you sign up, Share The Goods will put you in touch with someone who needs a little help. You’ll make a grocery purchase on their behalf and coordinate a safe delivery for them.

It’s a one time thing and gives you an opportunity to lend a hand if you’re inspired to help.

Staying home may feel like a dream or a disaster, but for now, it’s necessary to keep us safe.

Sticking to a routine, moving your body, eating well and scheduling down time to relax are the simplest ways to stay healthy while staying home.
