People often ask me what proteins I use or what my favourites are, so I thought I would present three of my favourite proteins. I recently started working out again after a 2.5 year lay off from the gym due to some kick boxing injuries I acquired from my competitive days in Asia. Since I train quite intensely and push my muscles with little or no rest between sets, I find it imperative to use a good Protein powder.
Vega Sport Performance Protein is a complete multi-source, alkaline-forming, plant-based protein blend, featuring 5,500mg of BCAAs and 5,000mg of glutamine per serving.
This is by far one of my favourite proteins. Not only is it the best tasting Vegan protein, but it mixes great and has the closest consistency to Whey protein you will find out of all the Vegan proteins. Since it is entirely plant based it has many health benefits and will not contribute to any inflammatory responses that whey proteins can cause. It is also great for those with dairy or lactose allergies and sensitivities as it is dairy and lactose free.
#2. Kaizen Natural Whey Protein Powder
I love this protein because not only is it sourced from New Zealand whey but the price point on the Kaizen natural Whey line is incredible. For those that have lactose sensitivities it also comes in an isolate which is virtually lactose free. This truly is a great clean whey that won’t hurt the wallet. This whey protein is hormone, anti-biotic, and steroid free, sourced from free range cattle, all good reasons this one is on the list of my favourite proteins.
#3. Progressive 100% Organic Whey Protein
Progressive’s Organic Whey Protein is made entirely from certified organic, non-GMO ingredients. The protein itself is derived from the milk of organically farmed cattle that are raised without the use of steroids, antibiotics or milk inducing hormones (including rBGH). Their diet is completely free of pesticides and fertilizers and they are grass fed and pasture raised on small family farms in accordance with organic regulations.
